Building the timer
After some consideration I decided to house the timer in a waterproof electrical enclosure, the display PCB and the PIC PCB are both mounted on a chassis plate and
wired together using ribbon cable. Waterproof connectors are used to connect to the ouside world.
The MAME switches were mounted in a die-cast box, a green switch is used to start the timer and a single player button is used to capture the times as the runners cross the line.
